EXCUSES

We all know what excuses are and we all make them.  But let us take a deeper look into why we do use excuses so much and what they are in the Webster dictionary.
1.  Looking to make apology for . 2.  Pardon  3. to release from an obligation.  4.  to justify

Daily Wisdom Word Meaning:  Excuses are an easy way to justify not taking care of a priority and sometimes they are justified, but over-used.

I can easily say this because of my illness.  It creates a legitimate reason why I can't do certain things
when I would like to be doing those things.  However, there have been times when I have used
this excuse and probably could have worked my way through it.

This is a great time for us to analyze if we use excuses too much.  Sometimes we use
excuses because we are just plain lazy.  I am guilty of that as well so please don't think I am judging.

The other side of this is looking internally and asking yourself if you use excuses with others  more
than necessary.  Do you miss out on opportunities because it is more convenient to make excuses?

Sometimes excuses cheat us.  They are altogether too easy to use.

When someone asks you for a favor, remember why they are asking you.  They may need help and you truly are able to help them if you shift a few things around in your schedule.  Don't use excuses as the fallback for every favor one asks you if you can help but it requires some effort on your behalf.

Excuses are the most acceptable form of lying.  If you look at your past, you most likely have made
a false excuse in your past.

We need to be more cognizant when we are making excuses so we don't make them too often and
cheat ourselves..

We are all perfectly imperfect human beings.  Thank you as always for reading and thinking with me.  SL
